Disney 2012 - Arrival Day

Our big trip this year was taking the kids to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL! My parents joined us as well so we had some more hands/eyes to keep track of the kids (primarily Dru, our slippery one). We flew out on Sunday April 22nd early. I think I only had to tell the kids 1000 times to stop kicking the seat in front of them. We didn't get any dirty looks so it must not have been too bad or since they could hear me the whole time they tolerated it. Because this was also Julie's big birthday week, I planned 10+ surprises for her. On the plane, Julie received her first envelope and surprise, it was a 15 song personalized playlist for her ipod. The songs ranged from the #1 song the day she was born to "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart.

My parents took a different flight with a layover and luckily arrived about an hour and a half after us. It worked perfectly, we were able to get the luggage and car, strap in the car seats, go get a snack and beverage then swing back to pick them up. We went to lunch then to our resort. We checked out the clubhouse and resort pool. The kids couldn't get in fast enough. My dad went out the door to the pool with Dru and before he even realized it she was undressed (swimsuit under clothes) and headed straight in. Sheesh!

Julie's second surprise was for her to take a trip to the Nike Factory Store and get a few things. My parents watched the kids while we went there and to the grocery store. We stayed in a 4bd/3ba townhome with a full kitchen so we stocked up on breakfast stuff and snacks. We had pizza for dinner and got prepared for hitting Magic Kingdom in the morning.

They both loved the kids room, it had a bunk bed, a tv, bean bags and stuffed animals. They wouldn't sleep while in the same room, so Dru was moved to a queen bed and Leo slept on the bottom bunk.  Leo started with breathing issues a few days before we left so he needed neb treatments for the whole trip. This was Leo's first time sleeping alone in a big bed. he did really well only falling out of bed once the whole week!
