Apple Orchard

On Saturday September 20th the kids and I started the day with swimming lessons, then watched the Bloomington Heritage parade and then with my parents, sister and nephew went to the apple orchard. It was a beautiful day and it wasn't overly crowded. We paid our $20 for our bag and hopped on a wagon out to the orchard. We picked Haralson and Honey Gold apples because they don't have Honey Crisp to pick. Then we checked out the sunflower maze when it started to rain. We were able to get to the van before the down pour. What a lovely fall day spent with family!

Leo's First Day of Kindergarten

Leo is in KINDERGARTEN!!! He started 6 days after Dru. He was lucky to have been assigned the same teacher as Dru had last year which I think helped keep him from being nervous. He was able to see the process of drop off/breakfast and pick up throughout the last school year, so it wasn't a scary place. After watching him walk into the school it really sunk in that they were both gone! When we got to the van, I automatically opened his door. Sad, my buddy wasn't there to hop in. He had definitely become my sidekick. He also had 2 thumbs up at pick up time even after admitting to having one time out. I know he will have a wonderful year, we are so proud of him!

Dru's First Day of 1st Grade

Dru's first day of first grade went quite well. Leo was still home for another week. She is definitely our fancy girl. She chose her dress and loved being dressed up and having her Hello Kitty back pack. She didn't show any anxiety which is completely normal for her. She gave two thumbs up when Leo and I picked her up after school. Nice!
