Dru 18 months

What a wonderful big sister Dru has been! Her world has changed immensely and she only has a few noticable issues with Leo being here. When she sees Leo having his bottle, she then wants one and she doesn't like it when she can't see what's going on (i.e. if I have him on the changing table). Otherwise she is as helpful as an 18 month old can be. She will try to cover him up with a blanket, bring him his pacifier if he is crying and even once tried feeding him when he was crying.

She is enthralled with his car seat whether he is in it or not. That seems to be our biggest safety issue especially when he is sleeping in it. She doesn't understand the concept of leaving him alone if he is sleeping but is doing great about being gentle. It is amazing how big she seems now that I carry around a 7 1/2 lb infant. At her 18 month check up, she was 24 lbs. 4 oz. and 32 3/4" tall. She is using lots of sign language which helps us know what she needs, as well as a little less whining :) Her vocabulary is growing daily. She can say (sort of clearly) about 20 words.

It seems she is a bit too smart, since it only took her a few times to realize that if I am feeding Leo I am not able to get up and stop her from getting into trouble very easily. Super!
