I finally couldn't take the different lengths of hair Dru had in the back. Grandma Sue was able to even it out. It was quick but tricky since Dru wanted to move her head every time grandma touched her.

4 month doctor visit
Dru turned 4 months yesterday. We took her in for her 4 month shots and check up on Thursday. It doesn't get any easier to see her in pain but I didn't cry this time :) Julie missed the shots at 2 months so it was an eye opener for her. Dru is now 14 lbs 4 oz and 25 inches. She is in the 90% range for height and head circumference and the 80% range for weight. We are taking bets on when she will catch up to her cousin Reed. Heather said he is around 5% on the chart with his stats. It probably won't be long.
Dru and Reed spent some time together this weekend and they surely enjoy each other. Reed is much less jealous of her when Aunt Heather is holding Dru. Reed was giving Dru kisses when I took the second picture, it was adorable!
Play Time
Dru loves her toys! She is becoming more and more interactive. She has a play "gym" that she lays under and interacts with the toys that hang above her and also an activity center that she can sit in and play with the toys around her. She gets a kick out of the mooing from the cow :)
She is also now watching us more intently and taking more in each day. Dru has decided naps aren't really all that necessary and takes only a few short naps (about 30 minutes) each day. We'll see if that changes at all, we were hoping she'd take a consitent nap for when she goes to daycare.

Three Month Photos
This morning was Dru's second photo shoot. She isn't a rookie in front of the camera, she's had her picture taken hundreds if not thousands of times but this was more formal. She was alert though kept most of her smiles to herself.
Now Dru is laughing and I absolutely LOVE it!!! Smiles were great, laughing is AWESOME!!! I hope to get that on video soon, it's priceless. She has now outgrown most of her 3 month outfits. Everyone says, "she's gonna be tall". Well, so far she is between 75-90% on her measurements so most likely that will be true.
Here are a couple of the photos from today.

Happy Valentine's Day!
The first two are when Julie and I watched my nephew, Reed. Dinner was lasagna in the 1970's highchair then Reed was talking to Dru in his "language" and then pointed to the camera. It was amazing, he must have been telling her to look at the camera. I wish I would have gotten that on video.
The third is Dru ready to brave a cold car ride and the fouth is Dru giving me a Valentine's Day gift. Adorable!
We will be having her 3 month photos done on Saturday. Be prepared for cuteness :)
Also, be patient on the photos of Dru's donor, Jamie. They are still to come...

Work (a 4 letter word)
This is day 3 back to work. I haven't cried as much as I though I would. Monday was definitely the most difficult since the last time I was at work Dru was with me. I felt a bit lonely. Then when returning home Julie had Dru in the window and was waving her hand. It was so surreal! I'm not sure why but I think my brain was thinking life would go back to how it was that last time I was working. I was thrilled to see her and can't wait to see her every day!
I can see how I will be more tired now. Getting up with an alarm clock and not just hanging out. And evenings surely won't be the same.
This morning Dru woke up just before I left. I got to hold her and get her bottle ready. I didn't realize how much a difference saying good bye to her alseep versus awake would be. I was so grateful I got to hold her.
Thank you to those who have been thinking of me this week. I appreciate it. Heidi

Not So Super Sunday
So tomorrow is the big day. Dru will be in the hands of Mama as I head back to work. I try not to think of all the firsts I may miss. This will be an adjustment getting up with an alarm and being gone for 8+ hours.

And for those who didn't notice the presidential campaign, if you can, make your voice heard this Tuesday. This election will be historical no matter who takes office.
Enjoy these yummy pics...
