This Christmas was definitely memorable. Dru and Leo had so much fun and were able to get enough sleep to last through all the excitement! They are both now old enough to understand about opening presents and were extremely spoiled by everyone! Santa brought the gifts the kids asked for, Dru received a doll house and Leo received a sleeping bag. We want to thank everyone for a wonderful holiday.

Julie, Grandma Sue and I took Dru to the Candy Cane Tea at the St. Paul Hotel. It is a tea party with Santa for kids. The table had a formal look with real china. The kids were given hot chocolate and there was a 5 course lunch with small bites of a variety of finger foods. It began with appetizer items and ended with cookies and a cupcake. Dru did well at being careful and trying some of the food. At one point all the children when up on stage to sing Jingle Bells. During the entire song, Santa held Dru above all the other kids. So cute!

Dru and I went to the Walker Art Center where Mandi again took her birthday photos. Mandi did a great job chasing her around, especially since she is pregnant with twins! Dru is tough to photograph as she doesn't sit still for more than a few seconds. I keep telling her she better get used to getting her picture taken, it will be happening frequently as long as I'm around. Here are a few of my favorites from this session. We celebrated Dru's 4th birthday by going bowling with the family. She and Leo did fantastic with the ramp and were very patient while waiting for their turn to come around again. Dru loves being the center of the attention and enjoyed having her aunt, uncles, cousins and one set of grandparents there to celebrate. We find it amazing that we have a 4 year old. And even more amazing is how much we love this energetic, smart, funny, independent, brave, beautiful girl. Happy birthday, babe!

Dru and Leo both picked out their cosutmes and Leo refused to wear his. Go figure! Dru was a ladybug again this year which was great because it is an easy costume and we already had it :). It was chilly night but thank goodness no snow. We had our traditional homemade soup at my parent's house then went out trick or treating to about 15 houses. Dru didn't try to get into people's houses this time and did seem to understand the whole concept. I really think her favorite part is passing out candy to the other kids when we get back. She even was commenting on their costumes. She's so funny!

Here are a few photos from the Moberly/Collins wedding, October 15, 2011. We were lucky to be able to witness this lovely ceremony. We really appreciated the short service so the kids were able to behave and not cause a rukus. It was sunny and warm, and we were in the shade of the golf course near the club house. Amy looked stunning and as we discussed the kids' favorite parts of our trip Dru said she liked Amy's sparkly dress the best. As for me, I said I loved seeing how truly happy Amy was and is. It makes me tear up just thinking about it. Congrats to you, Amy & Jeff!

We traveled together to Texas in mid October for my cousin Amy's wedding. We had some free time to do some things with the kids. We convinced Grandma Sue, Grandma Lois, Heather and Reed to go to Trinity Park in Ft. Worth with us. There we took a ride on the Forest Park Miniature Train. The train was driven by a small locomotive and had open seating. The ride took us along the Trinity River, over and under bridges and took about 40 minutes. It was a beautiful day and was a great way to see some more of Ft. Worth and the kids really enjoyed it.

My parents, sister, brother-in-law, Julie and I have started a tradition of doing things for Christmas instead of giving things. On a sunny fall Sunday Heather and Jason surprised us by taking all of us to the Millner Heritage Vineyard & Winery. There was wine tastings, food, dancing, grape stomping, wood workers, vendors and more. My parents talked the owner, Jon Millner, and discussed their heritage for awhile. It was a fun time and if you're ever out in central MN you should stop in!

Visit to the Apple Orchard

We went to Deardorff Apple Orchard in Waconia again this year. I was hoping to avoid any hay/stray/corn. Unfortunately they added a huge straw pile for the kids to play on. We did keep the kids off of it so it didn't cause Leo any problems. This is a pick your own orchard which we really enjoy, so we took home some Honey Crisp and Haralson apples. I also bought some pumpkin butter which is quite good (it's like apple butter). It is one of my favorite events of the whole year and I know the kids really have a great time! We may have to pick a new one to try next year.

We were able to get to the fair twice this year. We went on opening day without the kids and had a great time that included the beer garden! Then on the first Sunday we took the kids. It was nice to be able to do the things they wanted to do like the kid rides, giant slide and face painting because we had done what we wanted a few days before. This might be the way to go in the years to come. We love taking in all the food, fun and people watching each year.

Name Change

On August 23rd, I stood in front of a judge and was granted my request of having my last name changed. My parents stood with me as my witnesses. I am so lucky to have them be so supportive of my life and family. I felt that support that morning and won't ever forget that feeling. It has been a slow process changing everything from my old to new name. I'm sure it will take quite a while for everything to be completely changed over. The four of us went to breakfast after the 2 minute hearing.

Twins Game

Grandma Sue and Grandpa John took the family to a Twins game again this year. We went at the beginning of August and it was a beautiful day. This was our second annual visit to Target Field, and we hope to have the opportunity to do this family outing again next year.

Leo decided that he belonged to the family reunion going on next to our cabin, and they thought he did too!

It rained a ton on Friday, so Saturday we played in the puddles.

Leo used his floatie for the first time on Saturday.

We improvised due to the nasty mosquitoes. It didn't work very well.

We took another camping trip mid July at the KOA in Albert Lea with my parents (I won't say annual trip quite yet). We stay in the camping cabin and thank goodness we do. It rained and stormed again this year. We even went to get pizza on Friday night because we couldn't do much else. It only took over an hour because Julie and my dad got lost. Friday night, Dru had a difficult time falling asleep so we decided we were just going to have to go to bed too after 3 hours of bedtime battle. Saturday we didn't fight it and let her stay up until we were ready to call it a night. That was much less frustrating! We had a great time when we could enjoy time outside. The kids loved the huge grass puddles and we were able to spend time in the pool. They can't swim on their own yet but amaze me in their improvement each time we get into a pool. I think we may attempt camping again next year but may switch locations just to try something new. I am just grateful we were not in a tent!

Our 4th of July BBQ has been a tradition for most of the last 10 years or so. We start at the city parade and then head to our house for a BBQ then for those who wish we watch the fireworks at 10pm. We used to be able to see them out our front door but since we've move we can't. A few of us drove down the block to watch them from the school ball field and we could see quite well. Julie stayed home with the kids and was completely dumbfounded that they didn't wake up. She said the house was shaking and it was so loud. Thanks everyone for joining us again this year!!

Over the 4th of July weekend the kids and I made a trip down to Iowa to see my grandmother. We get to see her a few times a year but don't make it down to her house very often. The kids enjoy it there since it is such a different place, so quiet and open. We were lucky for some nice weather except we drove through a horrible storm on Friday night. The kids and I shared a room so bedtime was a bit rough with them keeping each other awake. I was able to play some Farkle and Yahtzee with grandma which I enjoy (and beat her a few times, too). We were going to venture to church but Leo was too crabby, we decided not to attempt it. I hope grandma enjoys our time together as much as we do!

My 200th Post!!

Wow! I've been blogging about the kid(s) since I was pregnant with Dru. That was WAY back in 2007! I have really enjoyed being able to have a place to keep you all updated with the way our family has drastically changes over these 4 years. I realize that the updates don't come often enough for most of you though I always try to have an interesting event to post about. I look forward to keeping this blog for years to come so my hope is that you'll stay along with me.

As of this Tuesday, August 23rd, I will officially be a Robole. My last name will be legally changed (not hyphenated). This means the title to this blog must also change. We will now be the Robole family in whole. I do hope this means less confusion for people we encounter as the kids grow and enter school. Obviously I would have preferred to have a marriage certificate to authenticate what it means for my committment to Julie but I am optimistic we will have that opportunity in a few years.

These photos were taken at the end of June by Amanda Sampeer (amandaleaphoto.blogspot.com). Aren't they phenomenal!!?? The kids even had a shortened nap before hand. They were taken at Murphy Hanrehan Park Reserve in Savage. There were some park "police" there and we were notified that we weren't supposed to be in the tall grass, it is an offense that comes with a fine. Oops :) They let us continue without a ticket, phew! It was muggy and hot and we did risk getting a few ticks, though after I flicked one off Leo's shorts that was the only one I found on us. I am looking forward to framing these for our house. The hard part is going to be which ones to choose.

Our recent trip to New York City was one to be remembered for sure! Julie and I went with Julie's mom, Marlys, and Julie's aunt, Eileen. The four of us flew out early on a Saturday and returned on Tuesday. We had a great time and I definitely laughed quite a bit. Our first experience was taking a taxi (towncar) with the license plate "OJ LIMO". Oh my, I have to admit I was a tad apprehensive. Our driver delivered us safely, with some very close calls along the way, and only getting "the bird" once that I saw. We checked into our hotel and did some of our own sightseeing ending with mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral Saturday evening. Sunday we took a hop on/hop off bus tour, with seats only on the top. We were FROZEN as it was raining and 50 degrees. Needless to say by Rockefeller Center we needed to get off and warm up. Monday we took a train out to White Plains and went to a casino on the way back. An experience, yes. We ate good food and saw the sights, but did we see a show did you ask? Well, if you count reality TV a show, then yes! Thank you, Marlys & Eileen for a great trip!

Leo's Second Birthday

Leo's second birthday party was all perfect except the attitude of the birthday boy. As you can see in this first picture he was pretty crabby. He had moments of his normal happy self but during gift opening and us singing to him it all went downhill. He ended up in bed by 6pm. He woke up a few hours later and did get some play time with his new toys. The party had a lion theme (Leo the lion). He received wonderful gifts and got to spend time with lots of family. Leo is now a big boy at 32 lbs not far behind his sister :)

Today is Easter and here are some photos from this morning. It turned out to be a nice day with the sun shining and blue sky. But noon it was nearing 60 degrees. We went to 8:00am church and then headed to the Schultz's for a delicious brunch. The kids ran around crazy and opened some Easter gifts. We plan to get out to play at the park after the kids take their naps. Happy Easter to all!! We are very blessed!

Dru did the coloring of the eggs this year. Leo was very crabby and was not interested in participating. Dru did a great job and really enjoyed switching the eggs from one cup to another. I think her favorite part was adding the stickers on them once they dried. Only 2 cracked in the process. I sure hope Julie is home to do this with us next year!

Spring came and went in early April. It was warm for a few days then it snowed again. So this was the first chance we had to get outside and run off some energy. The kids are going to have much more fun together this summer. We look forward to being able to play outside a lot!!

We returned from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico yesterday. We had a good time though Julie and I are exhausted! Unfortunately Leo had a fever for the first 4 days and needed neb treatments the whole trip. Both of the kids LOVED the pools! Dru would have been in the pool from sunrise to sunset if we would have let her. There were 10 of us on this trip, my parents, my aunt Yvonne, Heather, Jason, Reed and the 4 of us. It was nice for the Schultz's and Yvonne to be able to join us this year. Now they all have had the Cabo experience! The weather was perfect, full sun and just a slight breeze. We had a one bedroom suite so it worked very well when we needed to put the kids to bed. We could shut the door and be in the living room/kitchen area without bothering them. I know I look forward to returning when the kids are a little older. They'll be a little more independent and we might be able to do more activities. Until next time: Adios, amigos!!

Christmas was definitely fun this year. Dru really was getting excited about the whole process. She still loves the Christmas lights and we have now started an annual tradition of taking a Christmas lights tour as a family. They were in their Santa jammies and had a drink and a snack. Dru didn't get a nap that day so she slept through most of it. We made the decision to finally turn Leo's car seat to face forward so he could see better. He was thrilled so he was looking at everything.

Christmas Eve through Christmas night is a whirlwind of events. We spent Christmas Eve at Grandma Marlys and Grandpa Bob's. In the morning we opened presents at home then went to Grandma Sue and Grandpa John's for breakfast & presents with the Schultz's, then dinner with & activities with more family. The kids were exhausted as we were as well. But of course that didn't stop us from getting up early to shop the next day! I know, crazy.

We look forward to this Christmas as they are even more aware of what Christmas means and we can begin teaching them about the joy of giving as well as recieving.

Leo's Procedure

Leo had a procedure to open his left tear duct that had been blocked since birth. If you look closely you can see the mark the doctor put under his eye to make sure they opened the correct one. The induction of anesthesia was very difficult for us. I held him as a mask was put over his nose and mouth and within 20 seconds he went limp in my arms and they took him away. We gave him a kiss and left the room. I was not at all prepared emotionally for that part of the procedure. He was away from us for about 30 minutes. He did great and upon waking the nurse said he just took his pacifier and just layed quietly looking around. Everyone was impressed at his good nature. He had to fast so he was grateful to have some juice and snacks shortly after we were allowed to see him. By the time we left the surgery center he was back to normal. We are so glad to have it over with and we pray it is successful so he doesn't have to go through that again.

Dru went to her first friend birthday party a few weeks ago. It was at Pump It Up with multiple jumpers, slides and obstacle courses. It was Alivia's 3rd birthday party and Alivia is Dru's closest friend at school. Even in a snowstorm we made it and had a lot of fun.

October 30th marked one year we've been in our new house. What a difference a year makes!

Since we really don't have a "neighborhood" we drove into Grandma Sue and Grandpa John's house. Leo was able to participate in trick or treating and Dru became more aware of what this holiday had in store for her. Leo was a tiger (I guess he should be a lion next year) and Dru was a ladybug. While trick or treating Dru was more interested in seeing the people's house and seeing if they had any pets. At one house, she asked a young woman, "Why are you in your jammies?". She is too funny. Dru was able to ring the door bell at most of the houses. Leo wasn't able to keep up with her so he got carried most of the way. After about 10 houses we returned to Grandma and Grandpa's house to help hand out candy to other kids. Dru enjoyed that a lot and it seemed to help her get the idea of "get candy and go to next house" not "get candy and go in to their house".

Leo was recently in the hospital for difficulty breathing. We started in the ER on Tuesday at 7pm, he was admitted at midnight. He was not well enough to go home on Wednesday so he stayed another night and was discharged on Thursday at noon. He wasn't allowed to go the the play room because he had a cold so we did a lot of reading books and he did laps from the door to the couch. He LOVED his hospital crib. When I put him in it, he kept checking it out and yelling, "OH BOY!!" He was a great patient with a super attitude. Unfortunately during his hospitalization Julie was in Wisconsin as her uncle passed away. It was surely a difficult week for the Robole family. We thank all those who prayed for Leo's healing. It was nice to know people were thinking about him.

I was lucky to be invited to the Vikings game against the Dallas Cowboys. The Vikings actually won! The first picture was taken before I left. We had a great time, and found out the hard way the only non-carbonated non-alcoholic beverage in the stadium is water. This time I joined the Schultz's and I get to go again on Nov. 7th with Julie. Yay!

Fun at the Corn Maze

We went to Sever's Corn Maze on a recent Saturday. It was quite busy even though we tried to get there as it opened. There was definitely more to do than a maze. There was an exotic animal tent, farm animals, a hay bale maze, a corn pool (which I avoided), music, food, and much more. Grandma Sue, Grandpa John, Aunt Heather and cousin Reed were also there. I enjoy fall and this added to my love for the season. We might even be back next year.

Julie and I got away for a long weekend to Las Vegas with 2 cousins and a soon to be cousin-in-law. The highlight of the trip was the proposal! Jeff proposed to Amy on the gondola at the Venetian. Julie, Jen and I knew it was coming so we were giddy with excitement. We had a great time as usual and it always goes too fast.

Leo's First Trip To The ER

I didn't take a picture, but the night we returned from Las Vegas turned into a visit to the ER at Children's. Leo had another difficulty breathing episode and he needed some expert help. He's been on neb treatments and steroids ever since. He's been in a fairly good mood but clearly isn't feeling 100%. We hope this doesn't begin a winter of multiple trips to urgent care like his first winter.

We raked leaved into a pile for the kids to slide down into, they've quite enjoyed it. We also picked out our pumpkins for carving. We've been so lucky to have nice weather it doesn't even seem like fall. The decorations for Halloween are up though it seems strange when we're in shorts and t-shirts.

We spent this morning at an apple orchard. It turned out to be a great day for it. We did some apple picking, rode a trailer behind a tractor, had a picnic lunch and a were able to get some good fall photos. I do enjoy this time of year and will try to get an apple crisp in the oven today. For those who know me, know this may be a little ambitious. All 3 kids were able to participate this year so it was even more enjoyable. I hope we make this an annual tradition.

It was a busy weekend with friends and family. On Saturday, the kids and I joined the Schwartz family and went to the Target Book Festival. It was very kid oriented so Dru and 3 yr old Sky were able to bounce in the jumper, we had an impromptu lunch on the grass and read books in the "book nook". Jessica had the girls running like crazy so Dru (and Leo) were zonked in the car immediately.

Sunday we went on the Summit Hill House Tour in St. Paul. We were able to go into recently or currently being restored large homes. They were amazing and well done. It would take a lot of money and TLC to bring some of these homes back to their original architecture. I would recommend this tour. It was a lot of walking but luckily the weather was perfect. Afterwards we celebrated my mom's birthday with dinner and apple pie. Yum!

DRU'S FIRST POTTY!!!!

Potty training has commenced. It has been a week and we have had good days and not so good days. I have had moments where I had to talk myself out of giving into to the ease of the diaper. She definitely has some big steps to conquer, but we're on our way to having only one in diapers. Dru and I had our first successful trip to a public bathroom. I've been dreading that moment for years (yes, years). She did great and it wasn't as bad as I had envisioned.

The Minnesota State Fair is one of our favorite events of the summer. The kids did amazingly well without naps. We ate lots of food, of course. Dru and Reed went on a few rides. We were lucky to catch Tonic Sol-Fa in concert. I took Dru down the Giant Slide for the first time. I don't remember the last time I went down the slide. It was quite emotional for me because I used to go down the slide as a child with my dad and loved it. I hope Dru and Leo will love it too. I look forward to taking Leo next year! I also took Dru into the Butterfly House. She did quite well, though wasn't immediately okay with the butterfly flying down on her shorts. After it settled in, she let it sit there for a few minutes. Our day began at 7:30am and we got home around 6:00pm, all 4 of us were exhausted! Julie and I were able to go again by ourselves the following weekend so we could see some other things and could cover more ground. We spent some time people watching which was quite entertaining. We'll be back next year!

This was our first Minnesota Twins game at Target Field. The stadium is very nice and it was a perfect day for outdoor baseball. I'm pretty sure they won against the Oakland A's. This was my parent's Christmas gift for all of us. I would highly suggest not taking a toddler to a professional sporting event. (Consider that a public service announcement)

We've been pretty busy this summer, as I'm sure you are as well. Leo took his first steps in July and now is walking quite well. He definitely is a "toddler". It is obvious he much prefers walking over crawling. Dru has been moved up to the early pre-school room at school and is loving being with the older kids. Leo has been in the older infant room for a few weeks to prepare him for being with the toddlers. He will be moving up to the toddler room next week. It's been difficult only for me. The kids don't seem to mind the transitions. We will miss the infant teachers that we've been lucky to have for both Dru and Leo. They are wonderful!

Camping with two toddlers went much better than I anticipated. I was really hoping Leo wouldn't have to crawl around but he wasn't walking yet. He did take his first steps in the cabin for all of us to see! So now he continues to improve his balance each day. He can take about 7 steps without falling forward as of today. We did a lot of swimming and walking around the campground. There was a significant storm on Saturday night and we were SO grateful to not be in a tent. It was a very memorable weekend. We might even do it again.

It's a tradition at Grandma Lois' house to be measured on the kitchen wall. This was Dru's first trip to Iowa so she had to be coaxed to stand against the wall. She finally stood still long enough for Grandma Lois to measure her. She is pointing to her mark between Hailey's from 1999 and Mariah's from 1994. Unfortunately Leo didn't get a turn, he must have been sleeping.

After visiting my great aunt Ruth, I took Dru and Leo to the best park I've ever seen. It is Stow Playground in Estherville, IA. Dru had a blast even though it was 90+ degrees and humid out. Leo wasn't enjoying himself as much, he dislikes being hot. In the top picture they both stopped to watch a motorcycle go by. We went to DQ right after this to try and cool off.

Leo's glasses finally arrived after a week of me anxiously waiting to get over this hurdle. We tried them right before bed on Tuesday and he wasn't mad about them but kept pulling them down around his neck. The next morning we sent them to daycare with him. The report from the teachers was that he kept them on all day except when they took them off for his naps. WOW!

BUT... the same day as the debut of him in glasses, he was diagnosed with Hand Foot and Mouth disease. Yep, you read it right. Sick again. So we are in a self imposed quarantine since he is going to be contagious for awhile. He has blisters on his hands, feet, in and around his mouth/throat as well as red bumps all over his body. His throat is so sore he won't eat anything solid and has been sleeping most of the day. We are giving him Tylenol and Motrin alternating to help him cope. At least it doesn't itch. This illness is hard to take as a parent. Please send virtual hugs his way, he'll need them.

Yvonne spent the day with us last Saturday. We went to the zoo in the morning where we met Heather and Reed. Reed had a birthday party at the zoo so we stayed together until they met up with the party. Yvonne, the kids and I continued on but got caught in the rain. We decided after wet and chilly to head home. After lunch and naps we went to the mall to use the gift cards Yvonne gave Dru and Reed for their birthdays. Dru chose a fuzzy dog and Reed chose a monkey. It was a fun experience for everyone!

My dad has joined my mom in retirement! He had a celebration on Friday and he worked his final day today. We took a few pictures of him on his route. He hung up the mail bag for the last time after 20 years of service. He begins his retirement with a golfing trip. We are excited for this time in our parent's lives.

I was lucky to have a day off with the kids during the week and it happened to be a perfect day to play outside! I set up the water table and *poof* instant fun. Okay, it wasn't instant since we had to get suits on, slather in sunscreen, take it out of the box, put it together, get the hose out, fill it with water, realize the plug wasn't in yet and refill with water. Whew!

Leo's First Birthday Party

Leo's birthday party was a success! Brunch and cake, a great combo! Leo hasn't been too interested in eating table food so as you can see he didn't just dig right in. Dru was a great help opening his gifts and made sure everyone saw what he received ("Look at this, guys!") He is crawling all over and pulling himself up anywhere he feels like. Walking will be soon and I know he'll love it! We are looking forward to a summer where he can run around with his sister. Thanks to all who helped us celebrate his big day!!

This year has gone so quickly it's hard to believe our baby is already one! Leo has been a delight to have in our lives. With his infectious laugh and good nature we couldn't be more blessed. Without a doubt this has been an eventful and crazy year. He is now crawling like a pro and trying his best to stand up on his own. He is figuring out how his legs work with practice from Mommy each day. We know once he's walking it's going to change everything! We are excited to celebrate his birthday with family this weekend with a breakfast party. We are anxious to see how he changes this next year, though we are going to miss these days of him as our baby.

Leo Swimming Lessons

Leo had his last swimming lesson today. I'm pretty sure he had a good time when he was feeling well. He received a certificate to "advance" to the next level. He tolerated all the activities we did, like sliding in the water from the wall, floating on his back and kicking (which he did somewhat well). Today was his best session. I always enjoy the one on one time with Leo.

Easter 2010

Pretty self explanatory. The Easter Bunny was good to the kids. They each got a t-shirt, Dru got a hat (a Nike one, however) and as you can see some stickers. We enjoyed the family time and sunshine with a walk to a park. Leo is feeling much better after the virus that had him down for 10 days. His first birthday is just a few weeks away. It's hard to believe how fast time goes. He is crawling well now and LOVES it. You can see it on his face how much he enjoys being able to get around. We are enjoying spring here and hope he'll walk soon so he can play outside this summer.

Coloring Eggs

We colored eggs today. Whoever thought this would be a good idea with a two year old should be punished. Lots of spills, dyed fingers and stern words ended with 8 colored eggs. Phew. I'm thinking next year will be much of the same with Leo but Dru will be saying the stern words to him :) She was proud of the results and I'm pretty sure she enjoyed it.

Mommy had the day of on Monday March 22nd so we all went to the zoo. It was supposed to be warm but ended up being a bit chilly. Dru enjoyed seeing the animals and walked nearly the entire zoo. Her favorite part of the day was the playground. She went down the slides and ran around with the other kids. It was nice to spend some time together on a weekday.

Leo 10 months

Here are pics from this month. He has had 3 sessions of swimming lessons and has done well. Two fo the three times he wasn't feeling the greatest. Yesterday he almost fell asleep as he floated on his back. (Of course, I was holding him) He now gets the idea of sliding into the pool from the edge. I really enjoy the one on one time with him.

Crawling isn't coming easy for Leo. Today he was rocking on all fours but no forward motion. He now has eight teeth and will grab at just about anything near by with the hopes to chew on it. Also, he isn't a fan of any food that borders on being solid. I guess I shouldn't rush him, knowing he'll be eating a ton of food in just a few years.

Leo began his first session of swimming lessons last Saturday. Here he is in his swim trunks before hand because we aren't allowed to take pictures at the pool until the last day. He wasn't feeling well but seemed to enjoy it. He kicked and splashed like the other babies. It will be interesting now that he has been medicated all week if he'll do even better.

I'll be taking him to the doctor again so we can find out how to get to the bottom of these respiratory episodes. He isn't crawling yet, but will "crawl" backwards and get stuck then REALLY mad. He does still scoot around on his butt while sitting and seems to be faster at getting places that way.

Trying on the swimsuit, and trying out the chapstick

Self explanatory...

Dru used her pillows to fall out of her crib during nap time last Monday. It was clear she needed to be able to safely get out of her bed. That evening we converted her crib to a toddler bed. It took a few nights of staying with her to make sure she stayed in bed. By night two I was so exhausted I fell asleep on the floor. She could have done whatever she wanted but must have fallen asleep at the same time. Thank goodness. Yesterday after waking from her nap, she found a travel wipe package and took out the wipes one by one. Julie found her with the whole package all over her room. I guess we better remove all "fun" items from her room now. So far she has been good about staying in bed and in her room. Fingers crossed she continues this behavior.

Leo has finally started to hold his own bottle!!! Yay!

Leo is 9 months and has been very busy "growing" teeth. He already had 3 teeth on the bottom and in the last two days his top 2 front teeth have broken through the gums. Ouch!! He's been a trooper, and a drooler :) He is rolling around pretty well now and while sitting can turn around in a circle to reach for items nearby. We've tried giving him little puff snacks but he is just not interested. He makes a face like we are giving him lemon juice.

We've been struggling with him wheezing so the doctor recommended we put him back on his reflux medicine, and thankfully that has worked! I am now trying to wean him off of his nebulizer treatments. It's been a tough winter with illness around here so I assumed it was a virus or infection, guess not.

He can now wave bye bye and can do a baby version of rolling his hands for the "roll it" part of pat-a-cake. Super cute!! He continues to laugh A LOT. His teachers call him Mr. Giggles. They even said one day he laughed the whole day. He was laughing so loud he scared some of the other babies. I hope he keeps his sense of humor.

Holy cow! We have deep snow in our backyard! It was a struggle to walk to the back of our lot to the hill. Once we finally made it, we had to make a path down the hill. Dru went down with us about 4 times, really enjoyed it but was ready to call it a day. The snow was just too much for her to navigate. We forsee the many hours the kids will spend sledding and us having to force them to come inside.

It is difficult to imagine that we were patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for Leo to arrive just over 8 months ago. He has been such a joy! We are currently trying to get him to stop wheezing. After another trip to urgent care he is on nebulizer treatments. The doctor thought he was such a good baby!

He can turn frequently from back to tummy but has only mastered this maneuver in his crib. He sits up quite well as long as he isn't trying to look behind him, like at his sister who runs around in a blur. I am anxiously waiting for him to be mobile and I know I'll regret that as soon as it happens. I wish I could report that he is sleeping through the night, but no can do :) He must have an internal alarm clock for 3:30am.

It won't be long until he is a toddler, we are trying to soak up as much of this time as possible.

We spent the day today at the Mall of America with cousin Reed, Aunt Heather and Grandma Sue. Dru and Reed did rides and we had a lunch at "Uncle Donald's" (McDonald's). Dru and Leo were exhausted, they both fell asleep in the car. We had a great time! As you can see we were in our Vikings gear :) Julie was lucky and went to the game so she kept me updated with the score. Go Vikings!

My mom gave Leo his first haircut. He sat really well on a phone book in a high chair. He kept bringing the cape up to his face and because I had just put ointment in his eyes the hair would stick. He eventually did figure he'd had enough. Doesn't he look like a little toddler?

Christmas evening we went to the Bloom's (my aunt, uncle and cousins) house for dinner and family time. Our annual $2 gift game increased to $3 due to inflation. The food was delicious and the company was perfect. The day surely doesn't seem long enough to fit everything in.

This was Dru's first Christmas that she began to understand about Santa. She seemed to put the together the concept of seeing Santa and that he brought her and Leo the gifts she asked for. Dru got a baby doll stroller with a new baby doll and Leo got a dump truck and bus. We opened Santa's gifts then went to my parent's house for breakfast and to open presents with my family. Dru and Leo took naps during present opening so we were able to focus in Reed. He is at the perfect age to enjoy Christmas!

The snow storm over Christmas gave us many inches of very heavy snow. We shoveled off the deck and Dru decided she wanted to "help". She would try to push the snow but eventually figured out throwing snow chunks around to see them break apart was more fun.

Leo 7 months

Leo is 7 months already!! He is a big boy weighing in at over 22 lbs! He hasn't mastered rolling over yet though is very close to getting all the way from back to tummy. He loves to sleep on his left side. He was sick just before Thanksgiving with the flu (possible H1N1 but they don't test anymore) which turned into pneumonia. It was very sad to hear him wheezing and not feel well. He now is being treated for an ear and eye infection. Through everything he hasn't lost his wonderful personality. He is an easy audience, he laughs all the time. Now his biggest interests are his hands and feet.

We are looking forward to his first Christmas. He met Santa for the first time yesterday and did really well, as did Dru. He is still chatting a lot but it is getting quite a bit louder! He doesn't like to be left alone in a room and lets us know it. He will soon have his first haircut, I'm not ready because I know he'll lose his baby look. He isn't sleeping through the night yet, but does sleep 8 hours.

It's hard to imagine our precious Sweet Pea is now a two year old. She can talk in 2-3 word sentences, has definite opinions and is becoming more a girl and less of a baby every second! We celebrated her birthday with family and had cake and ice cream. She was a bit shy when we sang Happy Birthday to her but secretly enjoyed it :) Thank you everyone who celebrated with us, who sent birthday wishes and for all the wonderful gifts!

6 months

Leo has grown so fast with all the chaos going on with, getting our house ready to sell, having it on the market, packing then moving! He has 2 teeth already, both on the bottom. He is also rolling over! He can consistently do it from his tummy to his back but not quite the other way. He is not sitting up by himself but is getting stronger everyday. He LOVES to laugh at his big sister (who also LOVES to make him laugh). Leo also is a talker. He is chatting to whoever will listen especially right after a bottle.

Dru is a concerned and caring big sister. While at the doctor for their well child visit, Dru had already had her shot and finger poke (without a tear) and was in the waiting room with Mama. Leo then had his 4 shots and was crying quite hard when Dru stopped what she was doing, with big eyes said, "Leo!" and came bursting back into the exam room to see what was wrong with him. She also is a great helper and will give Leo his pacifier if he drops it or is crying. Very sweet!
